1981 Our Company was incorporated as 'Skipper Investments Limited'; we began our journey by manufacturing Hamilton Poles
1990 Company name changed to 'Skipper Steels Ltd.' and diversified into manufacturing towers and masts
2001 Set up LPG cylinder unit
2003 Set up first Tube mill
2006
  • Crossed 1 Billion in revenue
  • Got Powergrid approval for tower unit and first order itself of 400KV towers (the highest voltage level at that time)
  • Entered into a manufacturing tie-up with Ramboll, Denmark - the world's largest tower designing company
2007 Entered into value addition of steel tubes as scaffoldings
2008 Conversion of tower production process from manual to automatic CNC
2009
  • Got India's first order for 800KV transmission towers from Power Grid Corporation of India Limited (PGCIL)
  • Commissioned Uluberia unit with first PVC unit and India's first double side Tube GI plant
  • Company name changed to Skipper Limited
2010 Entered into backward integration of the two major product verticals tubes and towers, by way of Strip mill and Angle mill, respectively
2011 Focus on broader and diversified product verticals
2013
  • Crossed 10 Billion in revenue
  • Alliance agreement with South America's largest TSO for exclusive supply to their transmission projects
2014 Listed with BSE - market capitalisation over 15,000 Million (end March 2015)
2015
  • Crossed order book position of 24,500 Million, recommended a dividend of 130%
  • Company is awarded as the 'Fastest growing Transmission Tower Manufacturing Company' by CNBC TV-18
  • New PVC captive support unit got operational at Ahmedabad in April 2015
  • Listed with NSE in May 2015. Market capitalisation of 17,900 Million
  • Crossed revenue of 14,000 Million
  • Commenced operations in Guwahati
  • Company wins the best industry in Water Resources Sector by CBIP
2016
  • Won the 'Best Industry in Water Resources Sector' award by CBIP
  • Recognised as 'Star Performer' by EEPC..
  • Recognised 'Largest Tower Supplier' by PGCIL.
  • Became one of India's pioneer companies in production of Transmission Monopoles.
  • Commissioned our first Transmission line EPC project- 400 KV Punchkula tiala for Powergrid Corporation.
2017
  • Second Guwahati Plant was launched in Palashbari
  • Awarded "Largest Tower Supplier" by PGCIL for the second time
2018
  • Entered into a joint venture with Metzerplas for micro irrigation products.
  • Ventured into new product categories such as railway electrification etc.
  • Won the 'Largest Tower Supplier' award from PGCIL for the third successive time.
2019
  • The company wins the prestigious SKOCH Order of Merit West Bengal.
  • Best Employee Engagement Strategy by ET Now..
  • Produced and Type Tested India's first 765 KV monopole.
2020
  • Dept. of Scientific and Industrial Research (DSIR), Govt. Of India approves and recognizes In House R&D Center.
  • Ranked 14 in Dream Companies To Work For presented by ET Now.
  • The company commissioned the largest Tower & Monopole Load Testing Station in India, which is also one of the largest in the world..
2021
  • Skipper featured in "Top 500 Companies of India, 20211'by Duns & Bradstreet.

2022
